I AM CONFUSED
Ever find yourself uttering those three words, "I AM CONFUSED"
Read time 4 minutes.
Hi, it’s Rohit!
You're not alone. In a world brimming with choices and opportunities, confusion often becomes a constant companion on our life journey.
Lately, I have been hearing this statement “I AM CONFUSED” from many people around me, coming from different walks of life.
Confused with what subjects to choose?
Confused with which college to take after 12th?
Confused about whom I should get married to?
Confused whether I should stay in India or move abroad?
Confused if I should leave my job and work on my startup?
So much confusion..
We live in different times.
Life today differs significantly from that of our parents.
In their time, despite the challenges, everyone worked hard, everyone was working for survival, people were living in closed groups with limited exposure and also, they had fewer options.
Lesser choices resulted in lesser confusion.
Fast forward today, we are bombarded with choices, there are a million options available for the smallest of things.
Also, we may not be connected with the person living next door but with the help of the internet, we are well connected with people living 100s of kms away from us.
More choices have resulted in more confusion.
What we often overlook is that everyone is playing a different game.
Comparing our lives to someone who is 10 years ahead in the journey or with someone who worked hard while we were relaxing is as impractical as a crocodile thinking of climbing a tree.
Comparing our lives to others will only lead to feelings of inadequacy, unfulfillment, and disappointment.
Recognizing that each person is playing their own game is a crucial step in setting realistic expectations.
Embrace the Confusion
It's okay not to have it all figured out.
I am still confused about a lot of things.
And I know I will always be.
But the difference is - this confusion is no longer coming from a desire to be like someone else, no longer a result of how I want the world to see me and no longer because I am comparing myself to others.
It is more to do with what I want to do in life.
Reflect on your values, explore your interests, journal your thoughts, connect with like minded people and most importantly embrace the confusion.
Remember, it's not about finding all the answers at once but navigating your path with curiosity and purpose.
Confusion isn't a roadblock; it's a crossroads. Take a deep breath, trust the process, and embark on the adventure of self-discovery.
Wishing you clarity and courage on your journey.
Until next week!
